GODDARDS BREWERY

The Brewhouse at Barnsley Farm, near Ryde on the Isle of Wight, dates back to the 18th Century, and Goddards Brewery is a revival of this tradition of farmhouse brewing. In those days the beer was brewed for the estate and farm worker as part of his actual pay. Whilst he would recognise some of the traditional hops - Fuggles and Goldings - and quality malts now used, he would be amazed at the technology employed to ensure the consistency and unvarying excellence of the beers produced.

Housed in a picturesque 19th Century stone barn, in comparison with many breweries ours is exceptionally well equipped, energy efficient and hygienic. Most of it was designed and installed "in house" and the stainless steel vessels were fabricated in Ventnor, on the Isle of Wight.

Brewery output having shot up by 45% in two years, the brewery was bursting at the seams, and the brand "Goddards" getting ever wider trade and consumer awareness and recognition. Time will tell if this was a potty decision!
